Dr. Podolin's clinical orientation is cognitive-behavioral in nature although he uses a variety of interventions in his practice. Areas of specialization include: injured workers, chronic pain, sports psychology, anxiety disorders and couples treatment. Dr. Podolin uses state of the art biofeedback techniques including heart rate variability training and stress profiling to assist his clients in obtaining self-regulation skills for performance enhancement and optimal physical health.
Dr. Podolin received his B.A. in Psychology from Tufts University in 1981 and his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Wayne State University in 1985. He completed his predoctoral internship at the East Orange Veterans Administration Medical Center and his Post Doctoral Residency at the Rockbridge VA Area Community Services Board. He began private practice in Annapolis, MD in 1988 with an affiliation with the Sheppard Pratt Health System. He began the Behavioral Medicine Center of Annapolis in 1999 and is now the consulting psychologist with the Maryland Neurological Institute and on the staff of Anne Arundel Medical Center.
Dr. Podolin is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Maryland Psychological Association, and the National Register of Health Service Psychologists.
Dr. Podolin lives in Annapolis with his family and enjoys tennis, triathlons, kayaking, and photography.
